Abstract: A ring circuit with a voltage of 150 kV is taken into the power transmission lines in Timor-Leste. A contingency study for the new interconnected electrical network is highly required. The main object of the present work is to study contingency which is expected to occur in the power transmission lines. Based on the application of the ANAREDE program for simulation of power flow, developed by the Electric Energy Research Center-CEPEL, several load contingencies in the new power system of Timor-Leste are discussed. It deals with the main contingencies such as shortening or opening the electrical circuits.
