Abstract: During an earthquake, the torsional behavior due to eccentricity of structure can cause serious damage to the building structure. Therefore, countermeasures against the torsional behavior of building structures are one of the main topics of seismic design. In Timor-Leste, the construction of public facilities is rapidly increasing due to population growth and economic development. Thus, there has been many buildings that have insufficient earthquake resistances. Even if the building itself has a symmetrical shape; the structure is likely to exhibit a complex torsional behavior due to the asymmetry of the wall arrangement. For this reason, many buildings have been built with inadequate countermeasures against torsional behavior. To be evaluated the influence of the shear wall arrangement on the torsional deformation of the building during earthquakes based on BIM and static structure analysis for middle-rise building structures that are often found as a public facility.
