Abstract: The Department of Informatics Engineering, UNTL, has developed smartphone application programs designed for road maintenance in collaboration with Gifu University. One of their newest programs, tentatively named as System 3 in this paper, is a simple but smart system to assist road inspectors to collect road damage data in the field. This study conducted field performance test of the System 3 to evaluate its usability and accuracy. The results of the field test showed that the data collected by smartphone is very useful to know the actual condition of roads. It can make easy to measure and compute the budget.
