Abstract: The milling process of silica stone classes (silt, coarse and gravel) to produce silica oxide, SiO2 powder performed in this study by using different size of short rods mill in mill cylinder. The short rods mill consisting of four different diameters and lengths; ø1 = 13,92 mm l1 = 58,39 mm, ø2 = 15,85 mm l2 = 70,14 mm, ø3 = 23,64 mm l3 = 102,84 mm and ø4 =29,36 mm l4 = 108,00 mm. During the milling process the friction between the short rods mill and silica stone classes in the mill cylinder reducing the silica stone classes to milled silica oxide, SiO2 powder. The leaching solution of milled silica oxide, SiO2 powder by using conventional leaching; Hydrochloric acid, HCl with pH level less than 1 which simultaneously with 55% active sodium hydroxide, NaOH during the leaching solution for 288 hours to obtain the purity of silica oxide, SiO2 powder. Since the milled oxide, and leached oxide XRF analysis also using to perform the mineral elements composition of silica oxide, SiO2 powder.
