Abstract: This work conducted through several tests to know combustion inside the engine. It started with a proposal to optimize the electronic injection maps of a spark ignition engine. An electronic control unit was used to regulate ignition timing. The method used in this study is the experimental research method, this method is carried out by directly testing the effect of a variable on other variables. This study is to determine how much influence the change in ignition angle has on the maximum pressure in the cylinder, power, torque, temperature, knock and fuel consumption produced by the spark ignition engine with ignition angle variations of -5â° -55º with 5 deviation. This study uses engine speeds of 1500 to 5100 rpm with a slight deviation from 200 to 500 rpm. Results of the research that has been done, the ignition angle of 35º to 45º obtained or by setting the ignition according to the fuel used, optimum engine performance will be obtained, such as pressure, temperature, power and torque.
