Abstract: The development of Timor-Leste electricity sector has significantly improved in the last few years. However, it faces enormous challenges including financial and environmental issues. It relays on government subsidy for operation and maintenance needs. This shows that alternatives are needed for the country’s sustainable power supply in long run. The study thus analysis the current power options and exploring future alternatives through AHP method. Technical, environment, financial and resource usage were considered as main criteria for the analysis. Meanwhile, the most appropriate alternatives in this study were include fossil fuel, wind power, solar power and hydropower. Around 120 energy professionals were consulted during the study. The results show that solar power and hydropower are the most suitable options for the country. It illustrates overall priority vector of 49.12 % and 35.23 % respectively. It is also asserted that the AHP approach is suitable for analyzing multi dimensions parameters.
