Abstract: A weather station with a pyranometer was installed on the roof top of a building and started observation weather as a part of potential evaluation of renewable energies, such as photovoltaics and wind powers. Numerical weather forecasting with a meteorological model is also performed for evaluation of meteorological elements, e.g. temperature, relative humidity, rain fall, and wind, at the observation point for verification of the observed meteorological data. These parameters are studied in order to comprehend the atmospheric movement and non-uniformity over the area. The trends of the observed meteorological elements in three months and their daily fluctuations are compared with computational results with the meteorological model and discussed. Air temperature, solar irradiance and relative humidity show good agreement in both long-term trend and short-term fluctuation between the observation and numerical simulation, and it leads the usefulness of the observation with the weather station. On the other hand, the observed wind speed is small evidently compare with the meteorological model output because of effect of the building on which the weather station is installed. The analysis of the observation data and its comparison with the model lead that the meteorological observation performed in this study is appropriate.
